SRT25 - Day 116
Summer 2025 Road Trip
Wednesday, July 30, 2025
This morning we had a beautiful sunrise. All the smoke from the forest fires in Canada really helps to make a spectacular sunrise.
Bones: Our first Beaver dam of the day. It’s a small one like me.
Today’s obstacle course is much easier than yesterday’s. There were only two places that I actually had to get out of the canoe, to pull the canoe through. Yea! No portages!
We stopped at High Point Rock and climbed to the top. The view of the Beaver colony is pretty impressive. When the beavers build a dam, it forces the river to back up and change direction creating dozens of small ponds.
Bones is a little sad that we made it back to the Put-In. He really enjoyed this area and we both would love to stay for a few more days. But, we have to be moving on and there’s a storm coming in that will definitely get us wet.
Tonight we’re camping just outside of the New York Allegheny State Park on the border with Pennsylvania. The rain came in later than expected and I’m glad we’re safe and dry tonight.
